This would normally only happen if the closure was to the bottom. Please try feeding your dogs everyday collar through the loops and keeping the closure to the rear.

The doughnut has been designed to be worn in conjunction with a dogs everyday collar to help prevent this from happening.

Try feeding their collar through the loops to see if this makes a difference

Try removing some air.

Do you need to use a dogs everyday collar with the doughnut?

Accepted Answer

Although the doughnut was designed to be worn in conjunction with an everyday collar, it can still be worn without one.

It all depends on how secure of a fit you need.

Our own dog Lucy Liu doesn't wear an everyday collar with hers but she's never tried removing it. We will leave this to your own individual judgements

For the vast majority of dogs our doughnut provides a more comfortable alternative to the dreaded 'cone of shame' but sadly might not be suitable for all.

If your dog can still reach you could try the following:

Go up a size
Secure with everyday collar through the loops
Keeping closure to the rear

We will always provide a full refund if for any reason our doughnut is unsuitable for your dog.
